Florence Park Care Center opened for business on June 10, 1984. Even then, we were ahead of our time. Florence Park was the first skilled nursing facility to have a self-contained wing dedicated to the care of dementia residents, specializing in Alzheimer's.
In 1995, Florence Park was remodeled, adding a portico, ice cream parlor, a small private dining room for residents and their families, two additional main dining areas, and an enlarged and refurbished therapy area. Therapy plays an integral part in the success story of Florence Park, providing residents the opportunity to return home and function at optimal levels.
Florence Park is a sprawling, single story facility situated on approximately five acres in a residential setting, located across the street from Boone County High School on Burlington Pike in Florence. We are accessible from I-71/I-75, Turfway Road, I-275 and the Airport. There are park-like gardens with huge shade trees where residents can be alone with their families.
Florence Park provides hands-on, loving care delivered by skilled professionals who take a personal interest in each resident. In late 1999, several employees were honored for "outstanding service" in a ceremony by the Governor's office. Our staff understands the rich history our residents share. They give up everything when they come to live with us - their home, their friends and sometimes their families. Each resident is unique. Some residents prefer iced tea with their meal, or have a favorite sweater they like to wear for visitors, or like to watch the news before they go to bed. That's why our staff makes the effort to be sure it happens.
Florence Park cares. We go the distance to make the difference! Some days a kiss and a hug or just listening is the best medicine. We enrich the life experience of our residents - providing quality care in a home-like environment that nurtures the spirit of those we are privileged to serve.
